2025 Telly Award Winner | Press Release
A+ Education Partnership approached Bright Matter to support the launch of a new Alabama-focused education initiative: the Every Child Alabama Coalition. Bright Matter developed the coalition’s identity and brand, built its website, designed one-pager resources, and produced three videos—combining illustration and animation with on-site footage captured by the Bright Matter team in schools across Alabama—that debuted during the coalition’s first quarter.
The people of Alabama may not know Bright Matter, but they know your impact. Whether right or wrong, the quality of a coalition's marketing materials establishes its legitimacy to all audiences. Bright Matter has helped power Every Child Alabama's branding and established us as a unified voice for the children of Alabama.

An online resource for Alabama-focused education advocacy
After a national rebrand, Bright Matter redesigned the EdTrust-Tennessee website from the ground up, infusing Tennessee’s website with personality and warmth. The Bright Matter team developed a scrapbook-inspired illustration style that speaks to the human-centered heart and soul at the core of EdTrust-Tennessee’s mission and values.

Throughline
As part of the brand development process, Bright Matter introduced the concept of the “throughline”—a visual brand element designed to guide viewers through content and spotlight imagery in a distinctive, engaging way. It appears across print materials, the ECAC website, social media posts, and animated videos, and has since become a signature feature of the brand.

Telling the story of
Alabama schools
Education funding is a complex, multifaceted issue. One of the biggest challenges advocacy organizations face is communicating how these decisions impact every student, educator, and district. In partnership with Every Child Alabama, Bright Matter traveled to the state to capture the human impact firsthand. Through a series of three videos, we unpacked Alabama’s outdated, resource-based funding formula and illustrated how modernizing it could transform the state’s education system.

The Bright Matter team worked closely with school administrators ahead of time to ensure a smooth filming day—coordinating logistics, synchronizing expectations, and even arranging coffee for a quick pick-me-up.


The Power of Print
Access to a robust library of resources helped the Every Child Alabama Coalition clearly communicate the need for funding reform. From “Who We Are” one-pagers that highlight statewide funding challenges to the in-depth Why Funding Matters series—detailing how improved funding would benefit students from low-income backgrounds, rural schools, students with disabilities, English learners, and charter schools—ECAC launched with a powerful collection of content designed to drive change.


Social Outreach
Social media offers a powerful platform for education advocates to amplify their message. To support this effort, Bright Matter created a library of graphics and templates, designed to share timely updates and highlight the impact of improved education funding, helping Every Child Alabama elevate its voice across social platforms.
